Eyeliner/Lash Aftercare
You will be provided an after-care kit.
Always wash your hands before performing after-care.
Notify your artist or your healthcare professional of any abnormal inflammation/swelling or possible infection immediately.
Day 1 (Day of Procedure):
If lymph fluid is draining from the lash line, pat dry with a clean cotton round. You may do this as frequently as needed to keep the area dry from lymph fluid and to avoid scabbing.
Do not touch the eyes. Before bed, you can ice the eyes by applying the ice pack over a clean cloth. Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
Do not wash your eyes. Try to keep them dry.
If the eyes are swollen, you may take Tylenol.
Day 2 (Day after Procedure):
The eyes may be swollen. Swelling is a normal reaction and some clients swell more than others. The swelling should start going down this day and the eyes should begin looking better by the end of the day.
Day 3
If the skin feels very dry, you may apply a very thin layer of the ointment provided. Do not apply too much.
During Days 1 - 7 (Or Longer)
Until the scabs are gone, avoid water and makeup directly to the treatment area. Avoid excessive sweating, sauna, swimming, sunbathing, tanning beds.
Do not peel the scabs at all, as this may cause scarring.
Do not apply any ointment other than what has been provided or Aquaphor.
During the first 4 weeks, do not use products that contain acids or ingredients that will lighten or exfoliate the skin.
Important Reminders:
Do not rub, pick, or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing and dry skin naturally fall off.
Do not apply makeup, mascara, makeup remover, face cleansers, or other creams to the area for 7 days or until the scabs fall off.
Avoid hot, steamy showers for 7 days or until the scab falls off.
No facials, botox, harsh cleansers, exfoliants, direct sun exposure, or tanning for 4 weeks following the procedure.
Avoid sleeping on your face until the scabs fall off.
Always use a clean pillowcase.
Long-Term Care:
Use a good sunscreen on your brows and try to stay out of the sun.
Use of Retin-A/Retinol/Tretinoin, chemical or acid peels, or any rapid skin exfoliation products used on the forehead area will cause the permanent makeup of the brow area to fade prematurely.
Eyeliner/Lash Enhancement Healing Process
Day 1-2
The lash line will become 2-3 times darker in color, appear thicker in size, and may look uneven in shape due to swelling. Swelling, redness, and slight stinging are normal for the first few days.
Days 3-7
The lash line will still be dark and will begin the scabbing phase. As scabs begin to fall off, the area under the scab will appear light or almost as if there is no color there. This is normal and to be expected. Do not pick the scabs.
Day 7
The lash line will appear patchier and lighter in color. This is the “ghosting phase”. Color can fade 30-60% from the original color. Color results will appear between weeks 3-6. This is normal. Be patient!
Day 8 - Week 6
Color will start reappearing and darkening. Skin will appear fully healed in 2-3 weeks, but is not fully healed underneath. Younger skin typically heals quicker in 4 weeks. More mature skin may take longer to heal completely.
Weeks 6-8
It’s time for your perfecting appointment. This will allow us time to ensure the color and shade are to your satisfaction.
